For the first fraction of a second, as our eyes adjust to the dim lighting of Lukáš Prokůpek’s multimedia installation, we are forced to identify its various elements within the darkness of the room. Several videos, accompanied by photographs and carpets containing printed images (often consciously reduced to the very limits of being identifiable), combine to create a dark visual, mysterious and dreamlike symphony oscillating between the search for personal demons and a ur-forms of visual memory.
