What is SP

Start Point is now in the eighth edition of its annual activities, and already 33 schools from 16 countries took part in this year‘s program.

The project of Start Point was founded in 2003 at Galerie Klatovy/Klenová, Czech Republic. Since 2010 the project is administrated by Arbor Vitae Foundation and the final exhibition is hosted by GASK (Central Bohemian Gallery) in Kutná Hora from September 18 till November 28, 2010.

Each year, two representatives of the jury and one local tutor select a single “best” work from among the entered graduation projects of each school. On the day of the opening, the international jury selects the overall winner, who gets an opportunity of solo exhibition with an author’s catalogue. Since 2008 there are also awarded several additional prizes. All awarded artists are given a residency during the next year in Czech Republic.
