Łukasz Surowiec has attempted to study the familiar question of “physicality” in his own way, looking at the topic from several angles and several different aspects. Sculpture is represented by a massive female torso and an almost ornamental hip implant, body art and performance are represented by a video showing the artist’s range of facial expression, but Surowiec nevertheless is satisfied with merely observing physical expressions in all their pain and beauty (women exercising). This fragmentaryanalytical approach results in an installation in which apparently unrelated elements show a broader view of the human body and its abilities of passive and active communication.
