Christoph Meier

Christoph Meier chose a very unusual approach to his thesis work. When the thesis committee entered one of the school’s sculpture studios, all they found was a long mirror along one wall and a camera on a dolly track with a professional film crew along the other. The entire four-and-a-half minute film shows the committee’s amused and bored response to the unexpected encounter, interrupted only by a few startling moments. It is as if Meier had set up a mirror not only to himself, but to the entire school and the manner in which we look at ourselves. –pv-
